The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is developing a mechanism for reimbursing NDMS acute inpatient care, including the separately billable professional services of physicians and other medical practitioners who treated NDMS-placed patients during the course of their inpatient stay. These payments will be related solely to NDMS-coordinated evacuees who were admitted and treated as NDMS inpatients.
